Many churches (and their leadership) have elected not to address the growing problem of Christian
kids who are abusing drugs/alcohol. Yet research by Barna tells us the following:
"You're Not Alone" started in 1999 as a forum of sharing and encouragement where ministry families could share their pain and pray with their peers in a confidential, compassionate environment. As the ministry has evolved, many enlightened churches have elected to help, with God’s leading, reach out to families in the church who may be struggling with this delicate, devastating dilemma.
Your church may be considering a mini-series on addiction/recovery, launching a new support group and recovery ministry, or providing an outreach for non-Christian friends who have children, loved ones or family members who are abusing or to have your own half-day conference. You may even want to join with other churches for a community-wide outreach.
